Angel Program
"A low-risk approach to starting self-distribution"
Overview:
You
promote, we take care of the rest. We developed the Angel
Program to launch a filmmaker's
self-distribution venture with the lowest monetary risk possible
by pre-selling the
DVD to the filmmaker's core fan base (the "Angels").
The revenues from the pre-sales covers all the start-up costs
associated with the manufacturing, e-commerce, and fulfillment
of the DVD. The filmmaker's duty is to promote the DVD as
widely as possible, while the Angel Program (via the NeoFlix
platform) handles the record-keeping, e-commerce transaction,
and fulfillment & mailing.
How
it works:
50
DVDs in 50 Days
The
DVD will be pre-sold at $29.95 (plus shipping and handling).
When the pre-sales reaches 50 units, the Angel Program account
will graduate to a NeoFlix account, and we will automatically
manufacture 1,000 DVDs
in retail-ready cases with color case cover. The first 50
Angel buyers will receive a "special edition" copy,
and the filmmaker will have 950 more DVDs to keep selling
and distributing. NeoFlix will continue to manage the e-commerce
transactions, fulfillment, and mailing. There is no penalty
for not reaching 50. Any Angel fan who purchases the DVD will
receive a copy, regardless whether a filmmaker reaches 50
pre-sale units or not.
Qualification
To
qualify, a filmmaker must have a completed project fully authored
and ready for replication. There must also be a case cover
art.
Sign-up process
1. Register for an Angel Program account. (Click here to apply
or for more information)
2. The sign-up fee is $238, non-refundable even if you fail
to reach 50.
3. Send 2 fully authored DVD masters and the case cover artwork
to the Angel Program
4. During sign-up, you will upload cover-art, synopsis, and
trailer (optional)
5. An Angel Program reviewer will review each submission for
completeness of the DVD, and accuracy of the synopsis
6. Start marketing your DVD through e-mail, word-of-mouth,
your website, myspace, etc.
